It’s not Raining Cash @ Blackjack Pizza

So we had the ultimate blunder that is 100% my fault and now we have to recover. I don’t know if you guys remember in March of last year we were talking about our systems being pranked and causing issues. One of our solutions was to stop accepting cash for a little bit to ward off the pranksters. Well, short story made long, we never turned on the cash order option again. So we haven’t been accepting cash online since March of 2024.

Unfortunately, Pueblo is still a cash-based community and this mistake could have cost us 10s of thousands of dollars. Maybe even more. Now we have to find a way to let the community know that we are taking cash for pickups and deliveries. I think we’re going to attack this by offering cash only deals for the next few months and sending emails to our cash. Purchasers over the past few years with an aggressive cash only deal. Stay tuned to see if it worked or not.

Business Lesson Learned: Make sure you have a good system for monitoring open and closed task. Although we use Microsoft to-do synced with Outlook to ensure our task are being managed we have to be more detailed with even the mundane tasks, like turning on the cash option again or something like that. With so many moving parts in a business, it’s easy to forget something that you would think you shouldn’t forget. It is best to have a robust and detailed task list to for the everyday and for repeating tests. We have now synced our task management program with both the store and our personal phones to ensure we don’t make these kind of mistakes again..
