For decades the food delivery industry has been dominated by Pizza and Chinese food. We were the kings (or queens, no preference here) of the delivery world. We operated as an industry that thought we had 100% the market share. Well….. Along comes doordash. Now instead of competing with just Chinese food, we are now competing against all restaurants, grocery stores and even the local tamale lady (yes… the Tamale lady used doordash also). Who would have thought you could get McDonalds delivered???
If DoorDash continues to move in the direction they are going, our industry will forever be changed and we will have to think of creative and innovated ways to stay competitive. If possible, we need to consider delivering alcohol or maybe figuring out a way in incorporate THC into a specialty product.

Business Lesson Learned: Consistently evaluate marketing strategies and business practices. Small businesses play a role in supporting communities and providing employment opportunities. Operating a small business involves competing with larger companies as well as finding ways to maintain market share and remain engaged within the community. Compared to larger enterprises, small businesses often have a closer relationship with their local communities, which can influence their operations and visibility.
