Took the “L” again this year. This year did not yield the desired results. I frequently reflect on my motivations for pursuing this path. With years of experience in military logistics and having left a six-figure position, I am now working more hours than before and earning less. The work presents several challenges, including increased operating costs, employee theft, and evolving customer expectations. These factors prompt ongoing consideration about continuing in this field.

Business Lesson Learned: Honestly, I’m so stressed out, I don’t think I’ve learned anything. Being told you need 3+ locations to really fit the absentee owner threshold. I don’t want to be a owner/operator as I can make more money working for someone else. The goal was to create supplemental investment income form the business. We will consider taking a loan from our property to purchase a third location.
